Insured farmers should report crop damage on toll-free number 14447 within 72 hours
Farmers can also file written complaints with Agriculture Department; joint team to conduct on-site survey
Gonda — Taking serious note of the damage caused to farmers’ crops by strong winds and rainfall in the district, District Magistrate Priyanka Niranjan has directed the concerned departmental officials to conduct a time-bound survey of the affected crops and ensure that eligible farmers receive claims under the crop insurance scheme as per rules.
In line with the District Magistrate’s directions, a joint team comprising the Revenue Department, Agriculture Department, and IFFCO Tokio crop insurance company has been constituted. This joint team will visit the affected areas and fields to conduct an on-site survey of crop damage. Based on the survey, necessary action will be taken as per rules to complete the process of extending crop insurance benefits to eligible farmers.
Deputy Director of Agriculture Santosh Kumar Dwivedi appealed to all farmers in the district who have taken crop insurance and whose paddy or maize crops have been damaged due to strong winds and rain to register information about the crop damage on the toll-free number 14447 within 72 hours of the incident. He said farmers should clearly state their name, gram panchayat, development block, and tehsil while registering the complaint by phone, so that the crop damage information is recorded in time at the relevant level and there is no delay in further action.
Farmers affected by crop damage can also submit written complaints at the office of the Deputy Director of Agriculture, the District Agriculture Officer’s office, or with IFFCO Tokio crop insurance company. Necessary action will be taken by the concerned officials based on the complaints and information received.

The district administration has appealed to farmers not to delay in reporting the damage and to cooperate in the survey and claim process by providing the necessary information.
